Ragdoll
The sun today pierces the grey
Window quaint of a house down the way
Upon Mama sweeping around kittens sleeping
Daddy’s dentist appointment, he’s keeping
Danny is playing while granny is swaying
Sitting a while, knitting a smile
Touches and finishes
Love’s in the blemishes
Nobody’s perfect and life is a trial
RAGDOLL
Danny shared all his toys and his balls
But never lent anyone his ragdoll
Even when Mommy cried a tsunami
“Crying for two now,” Papa said calmly.
‘Twas gran’s bequeathal before she had breathed all
Now one life is gone as another one dawns
Seconds and centuries
Life’s in the memories
Ever eternal the circle goes on
RAGDOLL
The weeks slowly crept and nobody slept
Baby, she cried and she wailed and she wept
Very unpleasant, the screaming incessant
Until Danny boy gave baby a present
Baby confused it with food and she chewed it
But loss of the doll, Danny’s pain stalled
For he had captured
A glimpse of the rapture
And If there’s divine it exists in us all
RAGDOLL
The men came in swarms with dark twisted charms
Like deathly still windmills wrapped around their arms
Searching the halls, they searched past the wall
Where terrified baby started to bawl
Abruptly she ceased, abruptly at peace
Then little Dan looked in Mama’s hands
He seen a smile he hadn’t seen in a while
What it was really he didn’t understand
RAGDOLL
